Form & Functions

As a guide to the research initiatives on Global Imperatives and select results, this Compendium is organized in PARTS. Each Part is devoted to a specific IMPERATIVE. Each Imperative is the focus of different research PROJECTS.

Framed thus, this Compendium is not a substitute for the detailed reports of individual research Projects, nor is it intended to provide any more than the very basics.

Each PART of the Compendium begins with an introduction to the Global Imperative and its problematique, followed by a list of individual Projects.

The review of each PROJECT, situated within the frame of each Imperative, highlights select features of research and results, and provides relevant links.

In addition, a section on REFERENCES is located at the end of each Part. The purpose is to provide an explicit acknowledgement of specific contributions.

At this point, all basic matters pertaining to form and function are complete.

The following sections – the PARTS of this Compendium – focus on the research PROJECTS associated with each Imperative – beginning with LOGIC & THEORY.
